David Sungin Han MST, pada tanggal 8 Agustus 1990 yang saat itu menjabat sebagai Ketua Lembaga Pelayanan Kristen Indonesia (LEPKI) di Malang, bersama\n                      dengan rekannya Pdt. Lee Jang Ho. Setahun kemudian STELA diubah menjadi Akademi Teologi Elohim Indonesia (ATESIA) . Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tenaga hamba Tuhan yang disesuaikan dengan kemajuan zaman, maka sejak tahun 1997 ditingkatkan\n                      menjadi Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Elohim Indonesia (STTELA) dengan program strata satu (S1 Teologi Kependetaan) di bawah asuhan Yayasan Dian Kencana Indonesia (DIAKINDO).
